Hawaiian Monk Seals
Hawaiian monk seals are endemic only to Hawaii. This "earless" seal is considered critically endangered, with a tenuous grasp on survival. Perhaps 300 to 600 Mediterranean monk seals and about 1,100 Hawaiian monk seals now survive in the world's oceans. (The Caribbean monk seal, in fact, is believed to have been extinct since the 1970s.). Without the efforts of organizations like the Monk Seal Foundation, the Hawaiian species will cease to exist. Their fate is our hands. Through our partnership with the Monk Seal Foundation, 50% of profits from the sale of the cookies go directly to support the Monk Seal Foundation. The Monk Seal Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non profit organization dedicated to the preservation of the critically endangered Hawaiian monk seal.
